Third in the historical series about Thomas of Hookton, an English archer, and his hunt for the Holy Grail. I enjoy Cornwell's work, though I must admit I don't particularly like the heavy emphasis he places on warcraft nor his descriptions of the battles in minute detail. The story itself is strong and intriguing enough for me to tolerate the war portions, though. This book was of the usual excellent quality I've come to expect from Cornwell, though the ending was a tad predictable.
This was the first series by Bernard Cornwell that I've read. I thoroughly enjoyed the series, and I couldn't put them down. I truly wish there were more books so I could continue to read about Thomas and his adventures.
Like the two books before it, this 3rd book in the trilogy is loaded with minute details of battles, armor, and weaponry. Heretic is a nice wrap-up to the story of Thomas of Hookton and his reluctant search for the grail.
Great series. Read all three. Historical fiction like you were there.
#2 of the "Grail quest"
Excellent read, Excellent Series
This is the 3rd book in the series and is also my favorite. The subject matter is basically about faith and the grail but the picture of times in the 1300's is vivid and so interesting
Not as good as some of his books but it is worth the read.
Great book and great conclusion to a entertaining trilogy. If you like Cornwell's other works, this should be on your "to read" list.
This is the third book in this seies - all very good!!
Bernard Cornwell is a good writer, and I have also read all of his Sharps series.
Enjoyed the series and Book 3 didn't disappoint.
A young archer's quest for the Holy Grail.
Conclusion of the Grail Quest series. A great read.
Final book in Grail Quest triology.
