I had my first tast of the paranormal with Stephenie Meyers Twilight books, I read all three and loved them. I had no idea they were YA!

So now I need suggestions for simillar books, to keep me happy while impatiently waiting for the new Meyers book!

I did read Undead and Unwed and I have Undead and Unemployeed on my TBR but I was looking for something a little more serious.....=)

Thanks,

your newest paranormal convert,

Aimee

have you checked out the paranormal series sticky thread?  I love the Twilight books, how about Tantilize by Leitich Smith or Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr.

J.R. Ward's The Black Dagger Brotherhood series - I'm on the third book now and I just LOVE them. Awesome story - if you choose to start these read them in order though because there is definitely a story line carried from one to the other.

There is also Yasmine Galenorn and her Witchling series. There are three in the series now.

I love Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire series and appreciate the fact that it has more adult content than the Twilight Series. Bitten by Kelley Armstrong was also very good and is part of the Women of the Otherworld series. I'm also going to be starting the Black Dagger Brotherhood series soon. There seems to be so many good series in this genre that I'm sure I'll be busy for awhile.

I second Charlaine Harris's Sookie series!!  I've read alot of paranormal series that I love, but this is still one of my favorites!!!

Rachel Caine's Morganville Vampire series is also a FANTASTIC YA Vampire series, 3 of them are out right now

Glass Houses, Dead Girls Dance, Midnight Alley

The 4th will be Feast of Fools, but I don't think it will be released until June :-)

Anything by Anne Rice...her vampire chronicles are amazing, if you haven't read them yet. :-)

Anne Rice is one of those authors I never could get into for some reason.

I could never get into her either...it has been several years since I tried any of her books.  I've thought about giving it another go.

While I did like some of the Vampire Chronicles, I liked Anne Rice's witch series better --The Witching Hour, Taltos, Lasher, etc.

While I don't think anything really compares with the Twilight series, but Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz was really good.  There's also a second one. I think it's called Masquerade.  I just finished Marked by P.C. Cast, and I have Betrayed (the second one) in my TBR pile.   Marked was really really good.  These are both YA vampire series that lean more toward serious than funny.   I tried the Vampire Kisses series, but found the characters very shallow & couldn't really get into them.

I liked Blue Bloods too Danielle.  And I have Masquerade on its way to me....

I read the Vampire Kisses #1.  I thought it was kinda more toward even YOUNGER readers.  But they were still cute.  The characters were pretty shallow though. I'm still going to read the rest though...

THe P.C. and Kristen Cast books are good, Blue Bloods is in my tbr mountain, Vampire Kisses are cute but geared toward way younger readers I think, I hope they were anyway.  LOL

Hi All,

I think this story was in a story collection (anthology). I can't remember the author or the title but it was a really GOOD story. Let's see if I can explain this... there's a girl who's been kidnapped from her clan (not sure of the right term) and goes to find this really powerful guy at this science fiction convention. There's these 4 brothers that go to the same convention and their werewolves (I believe) and, almost as soon as they walk in the hotel, they can smell her - she's in heat - and want to find her. One of the brothers is married. Another one is really studly and will never get married. The other two are twins that are always doing dumb things and driving the studly one nuts.

You'd think with all this information I'd remember the story and the author! If you figure this out, could you please let me know, either here or PM me. I'll check out your booklist too!

Thank you,

Kathleen

Kathleen, that sounds like Sherrilyn Kenyon's story in the anthology Stroke of Midnight
