I bought a few used books on vacation which has led to me a new series (for me anyway). There is a series by Kathy Reichs with a main character called Temperance Brennan. I think these stories remind me of the Patricia Cornwell series. I find that my hidden gems turn out to be something everyone has already heard of! LOL! Hope this is new to you - I really enjoyed them. I might have a few left on my posted shelf.

The show Bones is based on those books.

Sort of.  Kathy Reichs is a forensic anthropologist who writes novels about a forensic anthropologist character named Temperance Brennan.  The show Bones is based on the life of Kathy Reichs, and the main character is named Temperance Brennan.  In the show, Tempe is also a writer, who writes about a forensic anthropologist names Kathy Reichs. it's a bit of circular logic, but both are highly recommended.  To make it more confusing, there is at least one novel based on the Bones TV show, and in the TV show reality written by Max Allan Collins,  That's TBR, so no comment there.

In the books Tempe Brennan is in her late 40's with an adult daughter if I remember correctly. On the show she's only about 30, never married and no kids.

The show is still good even if it doesn't really follow the books.

I started reading the Kathy Reichs' books several years ago, but lost interest after about the 4th book. And I never have gotten into Bones on TV. I may have to pick up where I left off in the book series and see if it can recapture my interest.

I love that show! So does my DH. Wonder if I could get him interested in the books (he doesn't -gasp- like to read)? Do they need to be read in order?

I don't get watch TV much. I'll have to check out the show and see what it's like :) Thanks for the info.

Pat - I read from the middle before I knew I was in the middle :) It was fine and I didn't really feel lost. The author seems to a good job of catching the reader up. I'd be more than happy to send you two for one credit if you like. Just buddy me and we can arrange.

Have a good weekend everyone!
