I love Dean Koontz so my opinion may be a little biased. He writes a very satirical letter following this novel replying to people who were highly offended by the subject. This should make you want to read this book without further detail. But in essence it is a battle between evil and good.

I love this book! Read this many years ago (when it was first published) and the ending has stuck with me. I enjoyed the pace and the good vs evil theme. Don't read this late at night...or you will not sleep peacefully.

He was clinically dead after the accident - but was miraculously revived. Now Hatch Harrison and his wife, Lindsey, approach each day with a new appreciation of life...shadowed by a his glimpse of death.
Something has come back from the other side. A terrible presence that links Hatch's mind to a dangerous psychotic. A dark force of murderous rage that hides within us all.....
