this was a recommendation from a friend after she discovered how much the holocaust intrigues me. I have read dozens of memoirs from survivors of the holocaust, but never one from a woman who helped Jews escape the horror of camps and ghettos. amazing read, and puts a new perspective on WWII. there were good people out there-and some survived to tell about it. this story will bring you through each emotion, have kleenex at your disposal: for the tears of sadness and laughter!

I don't usually like non-fiction, or religious books. In fact, I had to read this as part of a class. But I found myself going through it faster than expected, and in my spare time... regardless of your beliefs, it paints a very powerful portrait of love, loss, and most of all, faith during the Halocaust. Bringing out the best and worst in man... a real tearjerker.

This book is one of those that you cannot put down til finished. Kept my interest! Talks about the men and women that were taken into concentration camps. It is not all gloom and doom. The strength and courage of Corrie Ten Boom and her sister is amazing!!! God is with them through it all. One of the phrases taken from the Bible " Be thankful for all things " . The trials they endure are amazing.

I read this book when I was a teenager. It is a great read for anyone to learn about people being oppressed during WWII. Corrie Ten Boom's forgiving love throughout the holocaust and her personal experience along with her sister is moving. A person can learn a little of WWII, as well.

As a child, my mother made me watch this movie version with her. I was young and it was a little too much for me to understand at that time, though it helped me understand quite a bit about hatred and forgiveness and love (and life during WWII in Holland and Germany). I remember always enjoying listening to stories similar to Corrie Ten Booms (like missionaries and more). Her story of forgiveness spoke to me as a child. Now that I finally decided to read her book 22 years later since I had first seen the film, It was so much different to me and more effective. There were so many amazing details and great encounters and GOD-Moments (and miracles and answers to prayers) that I really enjoyed reading about. I had always loved the spirit that Betsie Ten Boom had, but goodness, I loved that woman while reading it all so much that I admire her so highly and want to have such a love and gentle sincerity for Christ as she had. It would be amazing to meet the people in heaven one day (like her father, who was a treasure of a man to be able to be so involved in his children's lives and the people in his town that his kids actually LOVED Jesus and all were involved in some form of spreading the word of God to others. That is a huge example of a father who taught the word and lived it that his children followed suit!! Excellent book worth reading!!
