Rob is deaf, but he has amazing lip reading skills and is a good fighter. Mairi, headstrong with a tendency to talk a lot and quickly, is not told her new husband is deaf. This leaves the both of them more than a little confused with each other. Through communication barriers, mishaps, and a good dose of danger, they find a love neither of them expected. This book is an un-put-down-able read!

I agree the concept of a deaf hero is different and unusual, which was nice. BUT...I also felt many times in the book he was made out to be "less than" because of his disability. Even by his "Highland Wife". I never quite found him to be a hero I would want for myself, which is something a book needs to have to hold my interest. Not bad, not good, just not my taste.
