ugghh, even though I followed my procedure for checking a book I just received before marking it 'received in good condition', later in the day I have now discovered a problem.  I just found multiple pages with orange highlighting!!  Don't know how I missed it when I flipped pages when I opened the package. I even PM'd the sender to thank them for sending a 'like new' book!  It doesn't even look like it's been opened before!

I've experimented and found that while flipping through the book 4 times, only twice did it happen to show me the highlighted pages.......now I feel like I'm going to have to be very OC about checking each and every book I get here from now on and not try to immediately mark them received.

When flipping or fanning through a book to check for underlining, highlighting and marginalia, you do have to be careful.  I have flipped  quickly through books that I thought were in very good or like-new condition only to discover later that some of them did indeed have markings. I now try to discipline myself flip slowly through books to see every page before sending books and also when receiving books.

The sender returned my credit since they didn't check first.  they said they had been given a box of books that they just posted without looking thru them.
