Lily Hill enjoys her quiet life alone on River Road. But over the course of one summer, family members descend upon her like a swarm of locusts. It soon becomes clear they don't plan on leaving anytime soon! I enjoyed reading about all the family member's little dramas, and was sad to see the end of the book. One other thing that grabbed my interest is that the house had been in the family for so long, it was filled with old family treasures and junk. It made me want to go to the house just to snoop and see what was in the Hill family's closets and cupboards, and attic!

This is a cute book about a quirky New England Yankee family. One by one family members come to "visit" the old family homestead and it soon becomes apparent that no one intends to leave. I could see this story becoming a Sunday night comedy-drama series on TV.

Humorous look at an extended family who for differing reasons, descend on their great-aunt's home (the family ancestral home). Their personalities are quirky and winsome, very interesting.

The story of Lily Hill, the elderly matriarch of the wacky Hill family and their never ending visit to her home. Easy, fast read.

A slow but satisfying read
