I'm on vacation hold, most of my books are in boxes as we are trying to sell our house and move.

I want to post books that are on others wishlists (ex: Jodi Picoult books) as I have a few on my shelf that are ready to go.

I don't want to take my entire shelf off hold, because I can't get to some of the books that would be requested.

Is there a way to do this?

Now I have never done this so I don't know if it will work (and seeing how many books are on your shelf it might take some time) but you could put each book that you want to stay on hold, on hold manually. When I look at my shelf I see little boxes next to each of the books that I can check and then a button saying "put checked books on hold". That way you can take your self off vacation hold and send just the books you have handy. This will also take your wishlist off hold too though, so if you are inbetween addresses that could cause problems.

ETA: I just tried it with a few books on my shelf and it should work. The only other problem I discovered is that my TBR books seem to be mixed in with my posted books, so if I put them all on hold I might have a bit of trouble telling one from the other because they would all then be on hold.

You lose your place in the FIFO line if you put just individual books on hold on either your shelf or your WL.  So if you've had a common book posted for a long time, you'll go back to the end and if you've worked your way up a long WL line-back to the end.  You hold your place in line when you put your whole account on hold.

I've had my account on hold for the same reason. I just post the book, take the account off hold for a minute and then put it back on hold. The book gets offered to the 1st person in line.  It will go back on your shelf on hold if they time out or decline the book. But then just off hold it for a minute.  Only once have I had a WL offer come through.  It was a short line so I declined and got back on the end.

If you want to post a WL book directly to someone, take your account off hold before post it or it'll go to FIFO.  I made that mistake.
