My tradition is that on my birthday, which is soon, I write a thank you note and include a gift card or baked treat for those who provide constant good service in my life, my letter carrier among them.

In years past, I have been home to hand deliver the gratitude, but I have a new job this year and it has different hours so cannot. I am also in a condo with PO Box style mailboxes which can only be used to receive mail, and a small drop slot for sending mail.

I know that some of you are USPS employees, so maybe you can help me figure out how to get my letter to my carrier. Is there a special way to address it and then mail it regularly? Is there some way to indicate that the envelope in my box isn't just un-picked-up mail, but my carrier should remove it and notice that it is addressed to him? Help!

look at the mailbox to see if the carrier loads from the front or the back. wedge the envelope in the box so it is standing up facing the carrier when he/she opens the box. Write on it their name if you know it, or at least Letter Carrier or something like that so they know it is meant for them.
