Hi all,

I need large print books for my Mom that are really Large Print. Too many times we have been disappointed by books that say LP, but are not. My mom is visually impaired-ie.  she can't drive or read w/out glasses and a magnifer- and she depends on me and the wonderful members at PBS to keep her supplied with reading material.

She just read 9 Danielle Steels and a Pearl Buck. She doesn't want Harlequin tupe romances or scary horror or thrillers. Memoirs, family sagas, love stories, warm classics all might fit the bill. Please dont worry too much about condition-as long as it is not dirty or smelly. She is just on the look out for "a good story"

Any help you can provide and any deals you might wish to make would be much appreciated

Thanks ,

Jill

Hi Jill,

I know how you feel, because I've encountered the same thing with people passing off regular print books as large print. Well, I have a few of the real thing, so check them out if you like.

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know,I have ordered/amordering from everyone who has pm'd me or responded so far.

Check your shelf and let me know.

Just talked to my dad today, (he is 90-God Bless him) and he reports that Mom is reading as much as she can and is enjoying it tremendously. :)

I have Pentecost Alley by Anne Perry and Sins Out of School by Jeanne Dams, both mysteries, and The Devil's Heiress by Jo Beverley. They are all definitely large print.

Have you tried using "large print" as a keyword in a search of the posted books? I just did and found over 3500 with large print in the subtitle.

Hi Jill,

I have The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold in large print on my shelf.  It has been ordered & cancelled 4 times now by people who did not want the large print version & I would love to mail it to someone who does want Large Print! It is in great condition too!

Thanks!

Hi All, Thanks for the posts and the many books that I have ordered.

Even though I have searched for Large Print  on PBS many of the books turned not to be LP once I ordered them.

I could not order any books with a church emphasis, since my Mom is not a Christian. I also took a pass on books that were in the middle of s series that she has not read.

ThanksSo Much,

Jill

Jill,

I have 7 large print hardbacks on my bookshelf.

Mary Higgins Clark:  No Place Like Home

Mary Higgins Clark:  Daddy's Little Girl

Maeve Binchy:  Whitethorn Woods

Martha Grimes:  The Lamorna Wink (A Richard Jury Mystery)

James Patterson:  Step On A Crack

Iris Johansen:  Killer Dreams

Iris Johansen:  Stalemate

Not all of them appear as large print on the bookshelf, but they are definitely large print.  I'm visually impaired, too.
