Back from another trip to London and I'm excited to share my pictures from an afternoon at The Tower of London.  Several sections are under renovation, so we couldn't see all of it....the Bloody Tower was closed so we couldn't see the Torture exhibit.  But we did get to see the Crown Jewels and a good tour of the White Tower.  You aren't allowed to take pictures of the Jewels, but they are spectacular!

The portcullis over the Traitor's Gate... the guide informed us that the portcullis is still functional but joked that we should step lively through it because the ropes were very old!

This is Henry VIII's armor as a young man.  The detail on it is quite beautiful. It is from the time when he was married to Katherine of Aragon.  The horse's armor has roses and pomegranites to signify their two countries, and the edge of Henry's skirt had interwined H & K.

This is Henry's armor as an older man.  He had obviously grown into the round man that we picture today, and seemed to be quite proud of his "endowments".

My attempt to sneak an illegal picture in King John's Chapel.  It is still a working chapel and they hold free public worship services once a month. And I believe the guide said that either Prince Charles or Prince William was christened here.

Views from the arrow slits in the White Tower.  The second one is overlooking the Thames.
