A enjoyable quick light romance.

With two kids to raise and her ex-husband in jail, Barbara Strong moved to Dry Creek for a fresh start. She loved the town, but apparently her feelings weren't reciprocated. Didn't the folks in Dry Creek trust her?
Sheriff Carl Wall had asked everyone to leave Barbara alone so she could heal. Could the sheriff do his job without losing his heart?

Truly a DELIGHTFUL STORY--one of my favorite Dry Creek books!....Carl takes his protection of Barbara and her children very seriously. But is he doing it because of his job or his heart?

Sooo many funny and cute scenes mixed in with the mystery and romance. While a little clumsy in their efforts, Carl and Barbara are two down-home, likeable characters trying to fulfill their dreams. Thankfully, Mrs. Hargrove is there to steer them in the right direction. Sometimes love can use a little push.

This may be my favorite Dry Creek book yet! It focuses on the Sheriff of Dry Creek, Carl Wall; and a new citizen, Barbara. She is recently divorced. Her husband's in jail for robbery, and her kids are fatherless.

It's not so much the story line as it is Carl himself! The entire book was great, but the two parts that really stood out for me was the "first date" that wasn't a date (or was it?) and the scene right after Barbara left the prison from talking her her ex-husband (the second time). I did cry in this book, just to let you know!

The romance was sweet! The ending was sweet! The whole thing was just so sweet.

Sheriff Wall has been looking for a wife. Could Barbara be the one?
