Dutch Honey Syrup

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Light Corn Syrup
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream (or you can use evaporated milk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

In a saucepan, combine sugar corn syrup and cream.  Bring to a boil over medium heat.  Boil for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.  Stir in vanilla.  If you want a more caramel flavored syrup simply cook until it starts turning a light creamy brown color.


Aunt Robin's Root Beer Pancake Syrup 

  • 1 1/2 cups Light Corn Syrup
  • 2 T Heavy Whipping Cream (or Evaporated Milk)
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 - 1/2 tsp McCormick Root Beer Concentrate

Put all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil.  Boil for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat and let cool.  Syrup will thicken as it cools.  This makes a thick and rich syrup.

Okay, Root Beer flavored syrup sounds wierd...but it is a hit in my house....even with the BIG kids.
