I got a request for a book this morning. I printed wrapper, mailed this afternoon since I pass the post office on way to pick up my kid from school. I get home and look in email and PBS had sent a notice: We are sorry to ask this of you, but if you have not mailed " Hard But unfortunatly I already mailed it. Do I need to contact them to let them know or will they already know since I clicked that I had mailed it? I'd never had one like this before. |

I would mark it mailed and then use the Contact link to say that you were out mailing it when they sent the email. You should still get a credit because the credit was taken by PBS when they ordered the book. ETA: You'll get the credit when the book is due to go lost. When an account is suspened, closed or deemed inactive by PBS then it marks the book received instead of marking it lost. But not until that lost date you get when you mark it mailed. Michelle, you didn't do anything wrong, so don't worry. I would contact the team however, so they will be able to update their records and also return a credit to your account, since the member won't be able to log in and mark it as received (and so you don't need to wait 26 days for the book to be marked as lost before you receive the credit refund.) |

If you already clicked it mailed, then they probably do know that it went out before you saw the message. It couldn't hurt to contact PBS though (use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the web page, under "Company"). You will get your credit for sending the book, since this is what happens with books going to members whose accounts are suspended. E-mailing them might make that credit return go a bit faster maybe? ETA: You are in the right forum for asking these types of questions. :-) Last Edited on: 5/12/09 5:21 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I am continually impressed at how PBS stays on top of things and weeds out the problems. PBS doesn't seem to take any garbage. This is a wonderful place to be.
