Not at all what I expected and didn't care much for it

I know there are pirates in world of the sea and I'm sure they are very dangerous, this story is told from the viewpoint of an 18 year old girl that was a brat, her father is very rich, her mother had mental problems and jumped off a roof, and she never accepted her stepmother, so they start out on a long term around the world in a yacht vacation, of course they are boarded by pirates, there the story begins and as I read each page it more unbelievable than I expected.

Every little thing brought back a memory of her mother and you had to read through that story, then when she starts talking to one of the pirates they start exchanging stories of their lives---etc etc and it just got boring and bogged down with all the 'memory stories'.

I don't know that I'll pursue anymore by Nick Lake
