Not unabridged - but the hostels they discuss have helpful comments. Well organized and the tips and icons are helpful for getting a feel for the hostels. Way at the end are amusing lists of "strangest hostels", best skiing hostels, rural, urban, romantic, cyclists, etc. Added a lot of enjoyment to go thru those lists and read about hostels in areas I hadn't even planned on reading about just to hear about them. Not a dry recitation of directions and bedsheets etc, good authors and undercover ratings of friendliness, security, and cleanliness.
