I thought the book was pretty good--a classic Nora Roberts! The dialogue between the characters was above par but I found the action a little difficult to believe. For one, the fact that Remo was always right behind them got to be a little hard to believe. Also, when they're alluding Remo traversing down the river, I thought it was a little slow. Other than that, it was a good read!

I LIKE NORA ROBERTS, BUT THIS IS THE LEAST FAVORITE OF MINE. THE WOMAN IS AS STRONG AS EVER BUT, THE HERO LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED.

I'm reading no more Roberts. This was just silly! Everyone is so perfect (even under the most ridiculous circumstances) - perfectly beautiful or perfectly bad, etc. Sorry, I just can't suspend my rational thinking quite that far.

Fun, adventure-movie with romance of a book. Great light reading for commute or vacation, in Nora Roberts style. Fun characters - the spoiled yet spunky heiress and the loner with a heart jewel thief who encounter a number of interesting people along the way.

A fast paced romantic suspense/mystery about a Manhattan socialite who crosses the path of a man who is on the run. He hijacks her Mercedes, bullets are flying, and behind them is a pack of ruthless killers who eliminate anyone who gets in their way. This was a very entertaining novel, and I had trouble putting it down

This was my second Nora Roberts book. Had it been my first, there would NEVER have been a second. I thought this book was truly horrid. I read about 75% of it; I could not finish. Waay too contrived. The characters were not likeable at all. I simply did not care what happened to either of them!

HOT ICE is a good story, but not fantastic. It is obvious how much the author has grown as a writer since she wrote this story in 1987. The characters were not instantly likeable, the plot didn't grab me, and it just seemed like your typical fill-in-the-outline standard romance. I was rather disappointed.

Rich, gorgeous Whitney MacAllister likes fast cars, vintage movies, and dangerous men. But even this jaded, high-living Manhattan socialite is taken by surprise when a stranger in black leather hijacks her Mercedes- just before the bullets start flying. Exciting spellbinding story of suspense.

Quick and easy read. A lot of jumping around and hiding from 'the bad guy' but an easy plot to follow. Also very steamy ;)

This was an okay book. I was a little disappointed with this one. It is one of Nora's earlier books, so I'm guessing that's why. If you are just looking to read a book this one would be good.

I have to agree that this was not one of my favorites by Nora! This one was actually hard for me to keep reading! Seriously, what are the chances that if you are getting car-jacked, you would actually STAY IN THE CAR!!! Really!

I am not a big fan of Nora Roberts or J.D. Robb or whatever pen name she happens to go under. However, Hot Ice is hands down my favorite contemporary romance. The chemistry between Whitney and Douglas is HOT and the story is captivating as you follow the two from the city of Manhattan through the wilds of Madagascar.

Highly recommend!

On the run in Manhatten and the target of hit men, Douglas Lord jumps into a nearby car and orders the driver to "step on it". Heiress Whitney MacAllister doesn't like being ordered around, but flying bullets make her move fast. With killers on their heels, Doug and Whitney come to an agreement. He has information that will lead them to a treasure and will split it with Whitney if she bankrolls the expedition. Soon they are on their way to Paris, then Madagascar, in search of a priceless treasure.

This is a good on-the-run story with witty dialogue. I first read this book years ago and enjoyed it. This time around I listened to the audiobook narrated by Anna Fields. I absolutely loved her excellent narration. My rating: 4 Stars.

The storyline is a good one but this book is drawn out and quite boring at times. This is definitely not a page turner. There was suspense but so far in between it became boring.

Rich, gorgeous Whitney MacAllister likes fast cars, vintage movies, and dangerous men. But even this jaded, high-living Manhattan socialite is taken by surprise when a stranger in black leather hijacks her Mercedes--just before the bullets start flying. International jewel thief Douglas Lord is used to living life on the run--part of the lure of his chosen profession is the thrill of the chase. But he has one iron-clad rule: he always works alone. Until now.

Wounded and in desperate need of cash for what could be the glittering crown of his dazzling career, Doug reluctantly accepts the wealthy, well-connected Whitney as his new partner in crime. With the papers screaming headlines about the missing New York heiress, and a gang of cunning criminals in hot pursuit, Doug and Whitney take off for the sultry wilds of Madagascar in search of a fabulous treasure dating back to the French Revolution.

For Whitney, what began as a high-speed adventure becomes a race between life and death as she tries to outmaneuver a pack of merciless killers who coolly eliminate anyone in their way. For Doug, who has been betrayed one time too many, its a chance to capture the elusive pot of gold and perhaps one final shot at redemption. For both of them, its an exotic quest for meaning--and a surrender to an irresistible passion worth any risk--as a deadly high-stakes game is played out to its terrifying conclusion, one that may have no winners or losers. Or survivors.

With Hot Ice Nora Roberts reveals once again why she is the reigning master of sensually charged intrigue and high-voltage suspense.
