whenever u pick up a romance book, the first thing u notice is the cover. strangely for me, i won't read the book if the cover is not quite the attention getter or i just don't like the cover model. what is even more bizarre is the one time i read a book where the cover model looks nothing like the hero and heroine in the story but thats another issue for another day.

there are lots of hot and sexy covers or cover models the ladies just go crazy over. not like Jacob and Edward off of Twilight(no offense)

so are there any fav book covers??? care to share?

I've got one!  A Tall Dark Cowboy  by Mackenzie McKade .  The book wasn't a keeper, but the cover sure was hot!

Funny - I really dislike romance novel covers in general. I much prefer a cover that is not a picture of the hero and/or heroine. I probably would never read romance novels if I chose based on the covers ;)

@Susanna omg i so drooled  LOL
now my husband is assuming im cheating on him lol

@Margaret its understandable cuz for me, sometimes its really embarrassing to read ur book in public and then people see the cover and looks at you with a different perspective. so i sometimes buy books with a cover that doesn't include the hero and heroine

a hot cover catches my eye but I've read far too many where the people on the cover look absolutely nothing like the description in the book so can't go by that. And I've read plenty with no people on the cover that were really good so I' say the cover catches my eye but I much prefer to read something that sounds good and that others esp here have recommended and then just drool over the eye candy!

I have always thought Elizabeth Amber's Lords of Satyr books had good covers.

I'm a huge fan of the torso/hip male covers.  I can imagine a face from the description in the book but the buff body shot is always nice:lol:  Elizabeth Amber's boys are nice eye candy but it sure would be funny if they hinted at their odd anatomy on the cover just to see if anyone even noticed:lol:

I also like the covers that leave the face to the imagination. I used to avoid books with really outrageous covers because I did not want to be seen reading them. I got several bookcovers and now I don't worry about it. :)

I would guess you're missing a lot of good books by judging a book by it's cover.  A lot of really good ones have tacky covers, unfortunately.  The one that immediately comes to mind is the "Fabio" covers of Flower from the Storm.  What a disaster!  I judge them by the reviews instead.

OK, Donna, spill.  What is unusual about EA's boy's anatomy?  What am I missing?

Hot guys are nice but for some reason a nice nature scene catches my eye just as much?

@Claudia wow that was a slap to the face lol i have read many great , soul touching books whose covers doesn't show the characters appearance. so i don't judge the book by its cover.  i also like leaving many things to my own imagination instead.

Hmm... I also sort of thought your original post suggested you really only read books whose covers grab your attention. I would have to agree with Claudia on this one. As I said above, if I read romance novels based upon covers I would rarely read them at all lol. Flowers from the Storm really is the perfect example  - what an AWFUL cover LOL!!!

Flowers from the Storm was like one of the best books i have ever read in my life. even though the cover wasn't too satisfying lol

i have to thank Claudia for that wake up call there. THANKS :D
