This was a new author for me.

The book was fabulous. Kept me riveted and turning the pages.
Dr. Emily Drake is a therapist who treats the Other: Non humans.
Detective Colin Gyth is a shifter. Emily is assigned to work with Colin on the Night Butcher murder investigation.

The romantic suspense is supurb and keeps you guessing who is the murderer. The sexual attraction between Emily and Colin grows into a hot, intimate relationship. The author did an excellent job writing the part human, part animal alpha male: Colin.

"Emily brings out the alpha male in Colin, unleashing a wild, heady desire that takes them both over the edge." From back blub.

This is great enough to be a keeper.

This was on my wish list for too long so I ordered off Amazon for an early xmas present and wow, was I glad I did. This book was very steamy for those sci fi lovers. The story is about a very unusual psychotherapist who is able to spot the demons, vampires, and shape shifters who walk among us. She pairs off with a hot cop on a murder case - who just happens to be a shape shifter. There are twists and turns and I couldn't put it down!

Paranormal erotic romance. Emily Drake is the therapist to all of the Other creatures out there: Vampires, shifters, witches... Colin is a cop investigating a serial killer. But, Colin has a secret that he hides from ther world, and Emily is the one person who can see it. Colin has to team up with the Monster Doctor in order to catch a strong, supernatural killer. But Colin is distracted by his attraction to the doctor. There are some unexplained questions: Where do Emily's talents come from? Decent romance, good thriller, hot sex scenes, pretty good plot. The book is fair. A quick read. Read it in one day.

Another yummy book from Cynthia Eden. I really like that she doesnt get so caught up in the sex and relationship that she doesnt forget to tell a good story. The ending was a little to quick, I thought there could have been more to it. Looking forward to the next one.

This story was very enjoyable. A nice, quick, easy read. The "romance" scenes were very steamy. I like the idea that there might be "others" living amoung us. There is some good information in the book for people who are new to the Paranormal genre.

Very good read - a paranormal page turner with an action plot. Romantic suspense/urban fantasy with a serial murderer plot and there are some unexpected twists before the murderer is finally revealed. The heroine Dr. Emily Drake, the so-called Monster Doctor, is drawn into a serial murder case - first to identify the paranormal elements of the case and then as the profiler on the murderer. The hero is Colin, a cop who tries fiercely to deny his werewolf nature and is appalled to find that Emily can easily 'see' that he is a shifter of some sort is assigned to the case. And his wild attraction to her makes it difficult to do his job... The situation is further complicated by his human partner who needs to be kept in the dark about the paranormal elements of the case.

I liked the humor - you've got to admit that a vampire who is afraid of blood has a REAL problem - and I liked the way the relationship unfolded between the hero/heroine. At the start she fears werewolves and he fears his own nature and exposure. Through the story they find commonality to build on. They are both outsiders - she by virtue of her powers to see and read the Others - he by growing up totally outside the community of the Others. She grows to trust him and he grows to trust her...

I liked it well enough to order the next two books from Amazon...

I was surprised the star rating was so high, because I didn't like this book; more specifically, the hero and heroine. She kept admitting to herself how terrified she was of him, and then lets him in her house, or agrees to be alone with him. And, one of the first things he does is pin her, and her arms, up against the wall and lays a kiss on her. I've seen this in a lot of books lately and really, I don't get how that is romantic. It seems to me most women would be afraid, not attracted to a man that would use physical strength to take what he wants.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a good who-dun-it as well as paranormal romance. The characters were interesting. It was a very quick read and I hope to read more about the other side characters as well. I have to admit there were certain parts that didn't make sense. For example Colin can be a little slow on the uptake to figure things out when it comes to Emily for a detective. There were several instances like this but overall it was worth the read.

Don't judge a book by its cover, but I got this book purely because of the cover. The man on the cover is simply beautiful. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, this is a different paranormal story. The heroine is a psychologist who specializes in problems supernatural creatures have. There's action (murder), romance with a handsome, alpha male shape shifter, and of course good sex. I liked the story and would read more from this author again.
