I have a book I want to post, but when I key in the ISBN number, nothing comes up. I tried the UPC number, and it turned up with the correct binding, but with a different ISBN. How do I get the ISBN to match so that I can post it?

Thanks for any help!

when you go to Post a Book and put in the ISBN, does the box turn green?  that means it is a valid ISBN but just may not be in the system

If it is green and no details pop up there should be another button to click on that will let you set up the book with this ISBN.  You'll need to enter all fo the details (title, author, publication date, desc if you have it from the back of the book, etc)

if you don't want to set it up, post the ISBN here and one of us will or you can PM me the ISBN, title and author and I'll work on getting it in there for you

Jackie--

Also, if you have 2 ISBNs (the old 10 digit and new 13-digit -- check the back of the title page), try searching under each of them -- sometimes the 10 digit comes up when the 13 digit does not.  Don't ask me why, it just does ...

Cheers,

Catt

Thanks for the suggestions.

Rick - I've been trying it for several days now, with no luck.

Leslie - The box does not turn green or red. It's almost like the ISBN is incomplete. An Amazon search also turns up no results.

Catt  - I will check the inner pages for an alternate number. I've been using the number above the bar code on the back cover.

Thanks again for all the tips. I'll see what I can figure out.

definitely check the inside text that gives the publisher info and such.  some times what appears to be the ISBN above the UPC isn't or there is something wrong with it and the correct number is inside the book.

let us know if we can help any further!

Hi Leslie,

The ISBN inside the book was in the system, but the binding was incorrect. I guess this means the publisher used the same number for both versions? So do I have to post it without an ISBN?

Thanks for your help!

that is correct, because they reused the ISBN you'll need to set it up as if there wasn't an ISBN on the book

I hate when they do that!
