When I did an advanced search, a bunch of fiction books showed up on my list, even though I specifically excluded them from the acceptable genres for my list.  Upon closer examination, I discovered that those books did not have a genre indicated.  Since I intend to save the search and periodically run it again, I'd like to put genre info (YA fiction) on those books that showed up on the search results, but I don't see a what to do that.

Is there a way I can add a genre to books that are already listed?

Click on the book's title, then on "more options" --> "edit book data."  You can add at least one genre there.  While you are adding the genre, please add any other missing info, especially if you have the book in hand.

If you want, you can ask the data edit approver to add one additional genre.  Put a note in the 'reason for edit' box as to which genre you want added.

If the book needs more genres than that, wait until the edit has been approved and the new info is showing, then go in to the edit book data page again, and you can add another genre.  The approver will be able to add one more genre, too.

It is really good for PBS to have us add genres.  The searches and the banners on the front page use this data.
