I requested a book.  The person I requested it from wanted to PM me and let me know that it had writing in it.  She thought that she had to mark the book mailed in order to PM me.  So she marked the book mailed and then PM'ed me.

I thanked her profusely for letting me know and explained that I would prefer not to receive this particular book with the writing in it.  I went to cancel and that was when I discovered that it's been marked mailed.  I then asked her to cancel on her end.  She says that she cannot cancel on her end either.

I looked at my Books I've Mailed page and it does appear that you cannot cancel a book after it is marked mailed.

Any idea how to cancel this transaction?  Do we just wait for it to get "lost in the mail?"

You could wait for lost in the mail--or she could refund your credit and you could mark it received(no net gain or loss on either side that way).  The two of you will have to decide which to do.

Oh, that's a good idea.  Much faster than waiting for it to get "lost".

Thanks!

if it has writing in it, it should have never been posted in the first place.

You could contact PBS and ask them to cancel the transaction.

if it was a textbook or workbook there could be writing in it (and the sender would have to PM to get acceptance of the condition before sending)...
