At a FOL sale, I bought a hardcover copy of Growing Up in Medival London  for me to read, then to post here.  Turns out it is very heavily highlighted.  For me, personally, it was never a textbook, but it definitely could have been one for someone.  Should I post it and do the PM thing for textbooks?  It is WL'd by 2 people.  Thanks!

Post the book, then PM the recipient after it is ordered to describe the condition. You must get his/her approval to ship before shipping.

Actually, the way the system and rules are designed, it does not matter what the "objective definition" of a textbook is.  The club members decide this - as long as the rules in the Book Condition Criteria for 'Swappability' at PBS are followed.  See the explanation and examples below.

If a member considers her book a textbook she may Post it with underlining/highlighting/writing on text pages, according to the "textbook exception" in the Book Condition Criteria for 'Swappability' at PBS; BUT since the textbook exception in the Book Condition Criteria for 'Swappability' at PBS require her to contact the requestor and obtain PM consent to the book's condition, she won't be in the position of sending a "stealth textbook" to someone who doesn't expect to receive one.

Go for it Kirstin.  Like Jennifer mentions, carefully review the PBS guidelines for posting textbooks before you do so.

Thanks!  I'll post it into the system and then PM the requestor.  My shelf comes off "Vacation Hold" on Wednesday, so I'll see what happens.

If the first person on the WL does not want your copy, you can ask them to put up a temporary RC stating they don't want your copy (with highlighting). Then you can post it again, click on the "Does not meet RC" condition, and then it will be offered to the second person on the WL.

Thanks, Sophia, I didn't know about that as an option.
