I have a book posted on my bookshelf that is on several people's wish list.  When I posted the book the first of this week I did not see any damage to the book but when it was requested today, I noticed on the back cover where there was some (I guess) water damage.  I need to delete the book but there are about 15 people with it on their WL.

Is there anything I can do to remove it?  If I put it on vacation hold, would that do any good?

Thanks for the help.

If there is a current request you can just hit [I Cannot Mail] and let them know. This will remove the book from your shelf. If it is still in a waiting on member, then you will need to wait for them to accept the offer to cancel.

If it looks like it might time out and go to another requester, then putting you shelf on hold will catch it from doing that, but Hold doesn't affect any transactions already in progress.

The person that responded to the wish request had conditions specified and that is how I found the damage.  I was checking the book again and even then, I didn't spot it the first time.  It sort of blended in with the color of the cover.

I did say I couldn't mail but it went right to another WL request.  I guess to the same person since I don't believe they would lose their place in line when I said that I couldn't mail.

Thanks for the input.

If you say your book does not meet Requester Conditions, it will go to the next person in line waiting for it. You need to use the [I Cannot Mail] button to get it to cancel the order and remove it from your shelf.

Cynthia, if I'm not mistaken I'm the one that is the current requestor for your book...I got your PM but, I went ahead and accepted the book so that you could click on the "I Cannot Mail" button.  DO NOT use the Does not meet Conditions!

Cynthia - I went through the very same thing a few weeks ago. A pristine copy of a WL mystery, so proud to add it to my bookshelf. So don't I accidentally put a 1/4" tear on one page. Had to "cannot mail this book" - so frustrating to be this clumsy. At least my bookseller took it and gave me credit on my account but I'll definitely be more careful with the WL'd 2nd book in this series.
