Can't you just hit the 'Ignore this member' button?  Pat

Where is the "ignore this member" button. I do not see it on the member's profile page.

And to what extent does the "ignore this member" function work? Does it stop this member from ordering books from my bookshelf as well as unwanted messages?

I'm not sure that 'ignore this member' (the button is on the forum page to the right of your message in blue) is what you want to do and there's nothing in the Help Center to 'block a member'.  If you go to the Help Center (at the top of the page) and type in IGNORE THIS MEMBER, it gives you the criteria for ignoring a member, but that is only good in the forums.  If you want a member to not be able to order a book from you, I don't think that can be done.  If a member is actually bothering you in some way (excessive PMs, threatening, etc.,) then you need to contact TPTB (the powers that be) using the Contact Us botton at the bottom of the page.  HTH.  I searched all over the site earlier and could find nothing. Thank you so much, Pat, I think you're right.

PBS does not offer an option to block other members.

The closest is the discussion forum option to Ignore this Member that Pat mentioned.  If you look on any discussion thread (such as this one) each blue post box has a notation in the bottom right corner that says "Ignore this member"  ... if you click that option, all conversation boxes for that member will close for you.  You will still see their header, but not the comment or footer.

If another member is sending you unwanted pm's you can ask them to please stop.  If they do not, or are otherwise harrassing you, it can be reported to TPTB.  There are also some privacy options that might be helpful under My Account, and Settings.  Such as only allowing friends to view your bookshelf, which would stop non-friends from ordering specifically from you and your book requests would be random FIFO only.

If you click on "show post anyway" in the bottom right it should say "stop ignoring member" and you can click on that.
