I am ok with mine, but a bit behind. I went through a slump in May. I just did not want to read. I picked up three different books all of them NOT on my challenge list. I didnt finish anyof them. They were good books, jut for some reason, I wasnt in the mood. And I felt a little guilty that they werent my challenge books and I knew I needed to catch up.

THis weekend I had a yardsale and I sat out in my lawn chair and read three books while waiting for customers. Two of them were for the challenge. The third is one of a series that I am reading were the 6th book is my Blood title challenge. So it was kinda for the challenge. lol. Still three books in one month is sad for me, :(

I am hoping to pick up my pace this month. We have a camping trip planned so I am hoping to be able to spend a lot of time reading.

IS anyone else having trouble reading the books you chose for the challenge? Has anyone changed the books they originally picked to fit new books you have discovered?

ETA: The book that has to be published with in six months, is that six months from January when we chose the books or six months from the date we read it? I havent read my choice yet, and i believe it has now been out longer than six months.

I'm still in but I can't stay away from the library!!  I go to library and check out four or ten books and then I feel compelled to read them because...well...they have to be returned.

Anyhow, I am only two books away from the bonus challenge (dead series) and I'll start working on other books to finish the challenge.  I'm definitely still in the running and I will finish!

When does the next challenge begin?? :D

(My  "published within the last 6 months" book has passed its due date too.  I think I'll read the latest Craig Johnson or the new C.J. Box to fill that slot. That will give me til Thanksgiving!)

I've completed 5 of the 10 category books (working on my sixth one now) and also completed the bonus "dead series" category. I'm in no hurry, I've got all year. As long as I don't leave a bunch for December so I feel like I "have to" read this or that....LOL I do have to come up with another "Animal" book, as the one I had chosen, while having an animal that's important to the main character, wasn't really part of the story per se.

I have about 2 more categories to go - I got on a role with the dead series and finished those quick - they were funny and I really enjoyed them, little sad they are over to. I have having a problem with the over 400 pages and the era book.

LeeAnne ~ I am with you what is the next challenge???? Maybe we could make one up what do you think?????

Maybe something to do with the  mountainous TBR piles

Well, I'm kind of back to this as well as the challenge for the historical fiction forum. We moved in May and I have had to let my reading go in order to get this house in some kind of order. My husband could only stay 2 days here before he had to return to our other house to finish up with his job and keep up the maintenance on the Utah house so it SELLS!

I changed my category one book to the Rosary Murders by Kienzle. I finished that and it was pretty good. If you are a Catholic, you will really understand it. If not, it will probably be a little confusing in places. After I read that, I went to the library and checked out another of his entitled Sacrifice - too much theology in that one for a murder mystery!!!

Hopefully I can get back into the momentum of reading again. It's been fun here meeting new neighbors. I can't get over how friendly everyone is in Tucson. Will have my grandkids with me for a couple of weeks this month, so that may slow me down a bit again.

I have my book with blood in the title and three books to go in the bonus series section.  In January and February I was ripping through the books and then...I slowed down and got into other books.  Plus I got into the paranormal challenge and raced through those.  Had to finish 81 books by September.  I have a bit more time with this one.

Cheryl I hope you're planning on the challenge for next year!

IT is a list of 10/11 challenges plus a bonus. For each challenge, we pick a book that meets the criteria. For example, A book with the word Blood in the title is one of the challenges. YOu cant double dip and read one book for more than one challenge.  We picked our books in january and have unti the end of December to finish.  Here is the link to the challenge lists to give you a better idea. http://www.paperbackswap.com/forum/topic.php?t=148677

I keep getting distracted. I haven't read any of the books that I chose. I need to go through my BIR list and see if I have anything that works.

I've completed seven categories.  I still have to read:  #2 (before I was born), #3 (historical--isn't crossed off but I thought I read something for that one) and #8 (reading an author I need to give a 2nd chance.  I keep doubling up on certain themes.  The translated one got me started and now I've read 3 Denise Mina and I read The Missing by Karin Alvetegen also.  That was really, really good, BTW!

I'm probably not going to finish the entire challenge, but I've completed two and have a third and fourth in progress. I have books that are suitable for other categories as well. Just hard to read lately!

Oh, for the 6 months challenge, I picked a book in PPB that was published in January, but I think the original HB was earlier. Is that OK? Or do I need to get a HB to fit the bill?

I've completed 6 of the original 10 categories and the bonus, and am currently working on 2 more. I will complete it, but it probably won't be til later in the year.

I have just started my "book published within the past 6 months" and after that I think I have only three others to complete the challenge.  Like Cheryl, I'll complete it but it will be a bit later in the year than I thought. At least I got the "dead series" out of the way early.
