I see other people's posts and they have lists that actually look like lists, they have bolded text, etc. My posts are all run together. Is there a guide to formatting your posts anywhere?

The edit box has a row if icons just above the text box. They do bold, italic, underline, strikeout; pasting from various other apps; numbered lists, bulleted lists, indenting and linking.

I don't have that. I did a test and I can bold things with html code, but the blank row code doesn't work and I still don't know how to get more than one paragraph. It looks fine in the edit window, but when it hits the message board it's all run together. Please help!

Chris - is there an arrow right above the text box?  If so, click on it and you should have th bold, italic, underline, etc. icons.  I think yours may be hidden.

You may have a more limited editor in some browsers as well. Are you on a Mac or Windows? and what browser are you using?

I'm having the same problem. I'm using a Mac with Safari. Is this the problem? There is no arrow and no icons above my text box.

Mozilla, actually. Is that the same (or an earlier version) of Firefox? That's a rhetorical question.

It is a bit annoying, though, to have to switch to a different browser, and I've got all my bookmarks, etc. set up on Safari, but I guess I don't have a lot of choice if I want to have coherent posts.

If you want to keep using Safari, you can use the brackets <> with a P inside, and it will show up as a new line.

Still kind of annoying, but for me it's less annoying than having a new browser to set up just for this website.

You can also use b for bold, u for underline, i for italics, and strike for strikethrough. If you use any of these, though you have to do another code (same brackets) with the same letter after the / in order to "turn it off".

I knew the bold & italic, but not the paragraph, which is really the one I needed. Should've figured it would be a P - duh. :)
