I've noticed others' books have a genre attached.  How do I know what genre my posted books are listed under?  Do I have a choice for that?  If so, how do I do it?  Does it help to add tags to my posted books to make them easier to find?

You do have a choice.  And the genres are VERY important because the search features and the banner of books available are done by the catagories.  Go to the book page.  Pull down More Options.  Click on edit book data.  Add genres.  Add a reason.  Enter it.

Please note that book edit changes are all reviewed by volunteers.  If you are adding info, say where it is from.  Explain why.  This lets the volunteers okay it without having to search the internet.  The volunteers may not be familiar with that book or that genre.  If we make it easy, it will get updated much faster.  And there might well be a delay before it happens.  As I said, volunteers.

Tags and the book wiki are done by us, with no review.  Tags can be personal (on so and so's RL list) general (release on xx/xx)  or topics that can be searched.

ETA.  You can see what genres the book is listed under on the book page.  It will be below the book description.  Books can be listed (indexed) under several catagories.
