I had a book requested from me. I accepted the request, printed the label and am just waiting to mail on Friday when I get paid. Today I get a message from the requesting member stating that they have already recieved a copy of this book so I should save my copy for someone else. However that would mean relisting mine and going to the end of a relatively long FIFO line.

Should I send a message to the member along the lines of that since the label is already printed and she can't cancel the order she should just relist the book when it arrives? And if this is the route I should take maybe somebody could word it for me nicely?

Denny

I'd contact PBS to cancel the order.  That way you could go back to your place in line.   Bottom of the page under Company.

I would also contact PBS.  The person who had the request ahead of you must have mailed the book but not marked it mailed.  The requestor probably didn't know this until the book showed up.  Really she did the right thing by trying to get the 2nd request cancelled.  PBS should be able to cancel the request leaving you at #1.

Now if you had already paid for postage that would be something else.

But even if PBS wouldn't cancel it for me-I would do the nice thing and cancel it.  She shouldn't have pay 2 credits for a book.  It would be the nice thing to do even if it was a heavily posted book.  But try contacting PBS.

Yup, I agree, nicer to cancel and ask PBS to put you back in FIFO at the right spot.

As someone who has had to ask others to cancel orders for this very reason (previous person mailed but didn't mark it) ... I know I REALLY appreciated it!

Okay, I guess it is unanimous, I will cancel the order!

Thanks!
