I have a book on my bookshelf that is wishlisted by 35 people. It has been on there for over 3 weeks.  Isn't it unusual for a book to be turned down or timed out for that long?

Are you sure your version is wishlisted? If you click on the book from your shelf does the window that opens show that there are wishers? Often times specific versions are WLed while others can have many copies in the system. If your edition is the same binding and everything, you could tag the WLed version with something like "also available under ISBN#XXX). A lot of people advertise them in the book bazaar or in their siggy lines too and they get picked up more quickly than just having them posted.

It is exactly the same as the WL. It has had the WA or W next to it since I posted it. I'm to the point now where I would rather list it on the bazaar since someone might accept it then, but since it has the W next to it, I can't delete it.

The bookshelf lists both books you've posted to be available to the system as well as books from you TBR (I think).  Check to see if, to the left, there is a green check or a green check with the red "No" circle/slash over it.  It's possible that while it's technically on your bookshelf it's actually on "hold".  If the check has the red circle/slash then it's on hold, which you can change by checking the box and clicking the "post" button at the top of your shelf.  It should then be introduced into the system and go to wishlist hold.  Hope that helps.

Is the book actually posted, or is it on your shelf, but on hold? Check the green check mark, does it have a green ghostbuster sign around it?

There are a few books with WL glitches on them. I know one Luanne Rice on my TBR has the auto-WL symbol on it, but has many copies in the system.

The bookshelf lists both books you've posted to be available to the system as well as books from you TBR (I think).   -its not your TBR, it was the Books to be Reposted list that was merged into the shelf. Books you receive from PBS can go straight to the shelf on hold and your TBR, but anything you manually put on you TBR will not so to your shelf.

Thanks for the clarification.  It was hard to tell as I haven't added anything to my TBR aside from receiving them here.

It's probably filtering through the wishers.  They each have 48 hours to claim it.  That would be 70 days with 35 wishers....

Thank you all for your help. That was what happened. I was being lazy and posted it directly from my tbr list. That'll teach me. lol. I have it all cleared up now.
