i feel like i am the member with 1000 questions...

most other forums i am on have a mechanism to keep track of threads you have posted on..so you can go back and see if anyone has responded, posted anything new of interest, etc. etc.  Is there any way to do that here?  I cant find it?

if i post a thread, do i need to click "watch this topic".  seems cumbersome but i guess its just something i will have to remember.

You can click "Watch this topic" and get an email whenever someone replies.  But if you post to a lot of forums, it's hard to keep track because the emails don't say which forum it was.

When I want to follow-up on a post that I've made, I click on the "Search Forums" button.  You can search on your nickname from there, and then "View Inline".

I used to get 50-60 a day from just watched topics. I turned those emails off cause they were just clogging up my inbox. Now I just check them regularly to see if theres been any action. To check out your watched topics go to the discussion forums menu page and look above the forums. Theres a blue link that says watched topics. Much easier to keep up with them there.

I "watch this topic" on any threads I want to follow closely.   I post to some and never go back, some I want to see the responses and maybe reply again.   I DO NOT get the emails when someone post to the thread but I do check my watched topics several times a day.      ONE watched topic every month is from the Book Bazaar and is January wishlist books with a different ISBN.   There is a new one every month and I've found some great books that way.      OH gee - now I'm giving all my secrets away.  <grin>

Well if it's not on the 1st page anymore than I just search my nickname and look at it then.  I used to use the Weight Watchers message boards.  They had it set up so that you could click on your post number and see the threads you'd made in the last like 3m or something-older ones if someone was actively posting on them.  On those boards though when a post is added to a thread it doesn't bump it up to the top of the message board. As new threads are added it just keeps moving down the page.  So it's harder to find if someones added a post. Not like here where it goes up to the top if a post has been added.
