I have two books I had listed that no one else had listed and people were wishing for . . . their wish lists came through wanting them, but I had to "cancel" because my books didn't meet their particular criteria (no Book Club, or no ex-library).

Now, I want to list them again, but since they are the only people wanting them, my books immediately get pegged for their wish lists - and they don't want them - but they might not know it's me that posted them again and I'll have to go through the process of cancelling them and re-listing them again - only to be in an endless loop.

Should I just wait to re-list them?

When you deny a book for RCS the book goes through the WL line. If there's no one else on the WL, the book should be on your shelf. This prevents the book from being offered to the people with RCS again.  Did you accept and then cancel?  That's the only way you should have had to repost the book.  It should be on  your shelf and then the people with RCS have to wait until your book is requested before they can put it on their WL again.  That's how it usually works.

So don't cancel them. When the RCS come up just say "book does not meet requestor conditions".  If they are PMing you witth their RCS than tell them they need to set up RCS or accept the book and then they have to cancel.  If people have specefic requests they are not supposed to PM you with them and then ask you to cancel.

I think as long as you selected "book does not meet requester's conditions", they should still be listed. Unless you clicked on "Cancel order for this book" - then they would be removed from your shelf.

I'm very new to listing books here and don't know all the terminology yet. I do know that RC means reader's conditions ( I think) and WL means (waiting list), so bear with me if I seem lost (I probably am - LOL!).

When I got the email that said someone was interested in my book, I clicked on the link that took me to a screen that asked me to either cancel or click that I could ship within 2 days. At that point NO reader conditions were listed - so I clicked that I could ship the book within 2 days. THEN I got a screen with the readers conditions and then I clicked the button that says this book doesn't meet the reader's conditions.  Fine so far. I do believe I clicked "cancel" on ONE of the books only.

However, neither book then appeared in my Bookshelf at all and when I did a Search and an Advanced Search for them, no books showed up as being offered and one person waiting for one of the books and 3 people waiting for the second book. I re-listed both and only the first one (with one person waiting) was immediately placed on the wish list and accepted again - went through the process and it was the same person with the same conditions - so I went through the process again and did NOT click cancel this time, and it still doesn't appear on my Bookshelf. I don't really want to list it again now if this process will just keep repeating itself as I don't want to get the other person's hopes up about getting a book, but I would like it to be out there for other people to find.

Guess it's a lengthy learning process!

This is backwards. You should have requester conditions as soon as you get the order. You have to say yes to them to get the screen with the mail the book in 2 days, later, or cancel screen. If you deny the RCs you don't get that screen and the book will go to your shelf and their request will go to your reminder list and they are supposed to wait until your book is ordered before the request again. You shouldn't ever click a Cancel if you are just declining RCs. I'd repost the books and see if they get on your shelf, if you don't ever hit Cancel and they still are not on your shelf, use the Contact Us link below and send feedback asking them to look at it and see why it is not getting to your shelf.

One problem that could happen is that the people wanting the book don't wait until yours is gone. I think if they reorder, it will get offered to them despite the fact that you'd declined the RCs. (this hole may have been fixed since I have had this situation in a while, but it was one instance where I got reoffered the same book despite the RCs being turned down).

I would have thought that the requester conditions would come up BEFORE I click that yes I can ship the book within two days, but on my end they don't until I click the button that says yes I can ship.
