I know there was weirdness going on around 10, 11 pm last night, system very slow.  I got an email about a request and tried to get in without success.  Then got the "maintenance note" screen and gave up, around midnight.

From morning through the day, I tried many times, always got the "maintenance note" screen.  I was puzzled by the few PM emails I got, and a couple of requests.  But I thought they were somehow being processed in the background, while the web application was still down.

Just a while ago, I got the obvious idea to try refreshing the screen in FireFox, and behold, here is PBS. WHEWWWWW!!!!   Gratitude!!  Feeling really dumb.

How long were we really down?

I was getting that on one of the forum pages all day today. Then I tried a forced refresh (Ctrl+F5 if you're using Windows) and it was there!

If you can't figure out how to do a forced refresh, then clear the cache in your browser and you should be fine.

Ah! You figured it out while I was typing!

Thanks for the info!  I too was having trouble getting my account to come up.  So I thought I would come over here to see if you all had any suggestions.  Thanks for the help!!  I did have a request cancelled last night when the system was down and I couldn't get to it.  I think I will PM the person to see if they still want the book.

I'm on AOL and still can't get into PBS at all using my Favorite Places or searching through AOL.  I couldn't get in at all yesterday.  I can get to PBS if I pull up Internet Explorer and enter the web address.

It's still down as far as I'm concerned.  Can't get here in the normal way.

I still can't get Daily Digest to work - it comes up but it lists 9999 books posted in no order whatsoever.  Also, I haven't been able to get to my TBR pile since Monday - didn't work all day yesterday or so far today - keep getting the maintenance message.  Any ideas?

I'm having trouble as well. It started yesterday and the only way I can get on the site is through the link in a notification e-mail for a book from my wish list. Once I'm on I can't get to my PM because of the maintenance screen. I tried clearing everything out of my browser history and refreshing the page and nothing works.

Hit cntr & F5 at the same time for a hard refresh. It should fix the problem.

I cannot access the forums on my work computer but can get to it using the receptionist's computer and have no problem with my home computer.  Sounds like the CTRL + F5 hard refresh should take care of my problem.  I'll scoot back to my desk and give it a try.

Ha!  I just now thought to refresh and here I am.  To think, I was abstaining for PBS for no reason.  Oh well.

My whole computer was having "issues".  I got the big white screen  on PBS "under maintaince".  I just shut down and went to bed.
