I posted a book that is in the system but had no description nor book cover, so I typed out the description and uploaded the cover... it's been 12 hours and still no approval, and I'm wondering if I should give up and upload at least the book cover separately.  Those seem to only take a few hours, if that--this morning I had one approved in literally about 30 seconds (someone's working overtime! :) )

Oh, my! You certainly got lucky getting an approval in seconds! Typically, since approvals are done by volunteers with lives and schedules that vary from week to week, you can occasionally wait the long time for approvals, but most are done withing a reasonable time period.

Approvals typically take from 2-5 days, but can be as quick as seconds to hours. On occasions when all volunteers are busy and no one has time to do them for days and days, they stack up and you can wait from 5-10 days for an approval to show up.

if you correction has not shown up in 10 days (barring any notices to the effect that approvals are on hold or having problems) you can contact any BD or BDC team member to see if approvals have been cleared recently (ie: all caught up). If so, then re-submit your correction, as sometimes the system just loses things, it happens on anything Internet.

If after the second submission's waiting period, you still do not see your corrections,  contact me directly with the information, original and changed, and I will see what I can find out for you.

Always keep image and data corrections on your computer for a few months after submitting them. Glitches and system errors do occur on PBS just like any other computer in the world. I hate losing things and having to find them again, so I keep them for a long time, just in case :)

On another note, if you uploaded the image on the same page as the book data (ie; down at the bottom) it is lost. That link doesn't work. You can only upload covers using the blue icon on the details page or the Upload Book Covers link at the bottom of all pages.

Ok, I'll give it more time, thanks.  :)  My uploaded covers were all approved now, but it makes sense the book descriptions would be in a separate virtual "pile" to read through.
