When I mark it RWAP'ed, the list of problems I have to choose from does not include this.

Is there something like "damaged by sender"?

Yes.  Underlining is included under Damaged by Sender.

You know what the next response is going to be, right?   yep, "I got it that way from someone else at PBS". That seems to be the universal excuse lately for not following the rules when posting books!

The "textbook" rule applies here which means the sender was required to PM the requestor and state the condition of the book as having highlighting BEFORE accepting the request, printing label, etc.

Actually, the poster responded that he went back and checked the rules and he agrees he *should* have PM'ed me first.  (It's a book that could easily be considered a textbook.) But since I didn't care about getting the credit back, it's a cheap lesson for him.

And thanks for telling me what to check off!

Just an FYI Evelyn, ANY book can be considered a textbook/workbook for purposes of the textbook exception. The key is that no book can be sent with writing or highlighting without that PM first. It doesn't matter if someone used the current bestselling  Dresden book to go crazy with their highlighter or a classic Chem 4 text book; either can be posted under the exception and both require the receivers approval of the underlining/writing/highlighting before being sent.

How does one PM the requestor before accepting the request?   Is there a new PM button on that page?  Always thought you had to accept the request before the PM button appeared...

The sender can PM the requestor at any point. I have a wishlist hold at the moment and checked the requestors wishlist to see if I had anymore books on her wishlist.

The requestor cannot PM the sender until they accept the request.

If my book had writing in it then I'd need to send a message explaining the writing and ask if she still wanted the book. I'd need to wait for her to agree to this before mailing the book. If she said no or didn't reply I'd need to cancel the transaction.

One exception to the sender being able to PM the requestor at any point...if the requestor has any RCs (requestor conditions) attached to the request, the sender doesn't have the option to choose "PM" until they acknowledge that their book meets the RCs.  But, in this instance, you could choose that your book met the RCs (if it does) and then a button will become available for you to PM the requestor prior to accepting the request.

PBS got tired of trying to say what was a textbook and what wasn't. So now all books are covered by the textbook rule. We are to select the last possible mailing date, contact the member, and cancel if they say no or do not respond by the deadline.
