A lot of people I know have given me books to swap here, knowing that I am a voracious reader, and being an intern right now, don't have the money to splurge on books.  However, I have too many now to fit in my little apartment!  My husband and I are moving soon, but don't want to haul them all with us.  How can I offer some sort of "sale" where a member could request two books from me for one credit?  I need to clean out so I can move around in here!  Thanks for your advice.

When I did one, we agreed on the books that the requestor wanted for "credits" and she reqested those - then she told me which ones she wanted for free and I took them off my bookshelf and sent them along with the "requested" ones.

Put the "sale" in your signature line.  Go to the Book Bazaar and post ( and bump it up everyday - only once per day) about your deal.  go to the genre forums that your books fall in and make a general post with your signature line showing about your deal.  Post on here at least once per day so that your signature line about your deal offer is showing.  It may seem like a lot of time to spend on the forums, but it isn't really.

Good luck.

definitely what Ruth suggested, put it in your signature line (like I have some of my unpostables below) and create a post in the book bazaar

you can also put a note at the top of your bookshelf - go to your bookshelf and there is something in the upper left under the tabs but above the first book that allows you to put a header.  If you go to my shelf you'll see what I am talking about

it will also help if you have images for your book covers.  I found 7 from the first page of your bookshelf and have uploaded those.  If you have a digital camera and the books, take a picture, crop it down and upload them using the link at the bottom of each page called Upload Book Covers.  put in the ISBN and the link to the image on your computer and the image team will approve them.

Thank you so much for the help and suggestions!  I'll get right on them (after we get back from Thanksgiving with the in-laws!)
