I have a paperback copy of  "Bright Lights, Big Ass" that I found at my Goodwill store yesterday.  It has some water damage, so I know it isn't postable.

But, it is 100% readable!  I'd like to be able to offer it to a wisher who might be willing to do a "private, off-the-books" swap, so to speak.

I looked at the wishlists of all my PBS friends, but nobody is wishing for it.  so....

Is this not allowed at all?  or how can I go about this?  I have no interest in reading it, but I'd love to pass it on to someone who does!

Water-damaged books may not be posted for credit at PBS.  You may find a taker in the Bazaar if you post it as a freebie with a book off your shelf.

You can also just ask for a credit for it.  The other person would buddy you the credit and you send the book to them.  Unpostable can be offered for credit, you just can't post them in the PBS system.  TPTB don't want them posted directly to WLs either.

Some of the genre forums have threads to offer wishlisted books.  Wishlisted unpostables are allowed on those threads, and you can request a credit if you like (or free with book from your shelf, etc.).  You are required to post the condition of the book and reason it's unpostable.  Romance, Paranormal, and IIRC Mystery/Cozy have these threads.

Some members list unpostables in their siggy line.

Good luck finding your book a new home Mary!

Thanks Denise!  I may try the "chick lit" forum if I get no takers otherwise!

There's also an unpostable wish list book thread in the book bazaar.
