If one makes an "all books" search here on PBS, how are the resulting book lists put together?  Are all listings books that may at one time have been offered here on PBS?  Or does PBS somehow import large lists of books under particular topics?  If so, from where are the book titles and authors taken?  Is there any kind of screening done by PBS when populating its book lists?  What are the mechanics of the process? Thanks for all help.

The listing may include books that have never been offered on PBS. The list will be all the books in the PBS database. That database is created from multiple outside databases, plus anything the members here have added. The database updates from outside sourses frequently.

We used to have a big volunteer project to help clean up the database. It has now been moved to under Member Tools, where it gets less notice.

Approve Book Authors.

An  ALL books search will also return you opportunities to buy books from PBS and Amazon.  This is helpful if you really need a book for a class by a certain date   (like I sometimes do for my 16 yo and my newly wed daughter who just got a teaching job for 8th grade and HS English classes).  If there are options, then you can decide how you want to order-- a used copy in FIFO, put it on your WL and wait, or purchase outright.
