I ordered a paperback from another member and received a hardback.  I marked it RWAP, but kept the book and didn't ask for my credit back.  I did send a PM to the sender explaining what happened and she wrote back saying that she just posted the book using the IBSN.  But that can't be true because the book was sent without a dust cover and there is no IBSN on the book anywhere.  Anyway, as I said, I kept the book, I have finished reading it and now want to post it, but I don't want to just click on the book from my TBR pile because then it will post again with the wrong IBSN and be listed as a paperback and I don't want to mislead the next person the way I was.  (In case you can't tell, I'm not really a fan of hardbacks, too hard to read them while laying in bed).

So how do I post this book?

Ray:

If you go to the Post books tab, you have an option of posting a book without an ISBN. You'll have to fill in title and author, binding, etc. and you'll be able to post it that way.

Did you check the copyright page at the beginning to see whether there's an ISBN given there?

Yeah, I checked.  Just a Library of Congress number.  I tried posting it with that, but it's only 6 numbers long.

Sounds as though you may have a hardcover printed before ISBN's came into effect, with the number your sender found being for a later re-issue.
