I have the following book on my shelf.  It is a wish list book with only 1 wisher.  I have had this book time out 4 times now.
I think it mus be the same person since it is only the 1 wisher.  Will this keep happening or will pbs do something about it???

It should only time out on the one wisher once. When it times out that wisher gets it removed from their Wish List and you book should be posted to your shelf. They could come back and request it, but they would not be able to add it back to their Wish List with your copy available unless you are putting your Shelf on Vacation Hold where your copy gets hidden again.

Its possible that someone else who had it one their Wish List is taking their Shelf off of Vacation Hold, but it would be quite a coincidence to have it happen 4 times on one book. Can you look in your Transaction Archive and see if they are all there and with the same member?

Look at your Wish List Hold tab and see if there is a PM button you can use to see who the member is now. If it times out again and goes back to a Hold with the same member use the Contact Us link to ask the Team to look at it.

eta: I just realized that if your copy is currently in a Hold, there is yet another wisher there because the person with your book being Held for them would not be shown as a wisher anymore.

Bertie,

What is it that keeps happening? Are you cancelling the order or is the other member not accepting the order?

It shows as having 1 wisher now, so if it's currently on hold for a wisher, like Melanie said, there's someone else also wishing for it.  With this past week of bad storms and holidays, it's entirly conceivable that it had a short WL with a few people on hold and as people are coming off holiday hold it's staying with 1 or 2 wishers.

Or if you are going on and off vacation hold-that could explain the same wisher over and over again. I had that happen to me. I was on hold to cut down on postage costs and posted a WL book with 1 wisher.  It timed out on that person and I was back on vacation.  I see it's WL again, unhold, same person.  After the 3rd time this person added the book back to their WL and then let it time out-I stayed off hold long enough for it to go on the book posted today page where it was ordered by someone else.  I was really ticked off and had to restrain myself from PMing this person and tell them to either go on vacation or buy some credits because letting requests time out over and over like that was rude to other members.

The other member is not accepting the bookMy shelf is now on hold so the person wishing for the book will get mine when I take my shelf off hold.  My shelf does go on and off hold, I can only get to the post office about twice a month so I put it on hold and then take it off when I know I can get the books mailed.

Forgot to say I do leave me shelf off hold for at least 4 days to give people time to accepted the books

It is conceiviable then that you are getting into somewhat of a WL circle-> they wish for it--you post it--they wander off and don't accept so it times out--you put your shelf back on hold--they come back and see they missed the book and re-wish it--you come back and take your shelf off Hold and post it-they wander off...

I have 2 book requests that I made wait for member 5 days before it times out. Perhaps you should wait  and let your shelf stay open for 6 days before you put your shelf on hold again, knowing you have a wish-listed book.  I always hope people log on everyday, but some can only log on 1 a week .

Yeah sounds like someone isn't paying much attention to their account or out of credits and so letting it time out because it only has 1 wisher.  Very rude.

Sounds like an interesting book; I added to my wish list.  So, now there are 2 wishers.

Why wait 5 days??  I thought wish list had to be accepted within 48 hours.

You are right Bertie,,wish-list*** I had forgotten, but somewhere in the timing they must have been caught up in a cycle that keeps repeating.

If I didn't have so many books to mail this week (26) I would take my shelf off hold just to see what happens. It will have to wait a another week before I take it off. I will see what happens then.

Well then, that's at least two active wishers for the book.  :)
