Credits that is.  Its seems like I go thru stages.  Sometimes I only have 5 or 6 in my account because I can't stop picking out books.  But then like now I have 38 because I just can't find any books that catch my eye.  When I first started here I,  I would spend a credit as soon as I got it,  Now I actually take the time to pick and choose. :)

I go through that all the time too.  I'll have 30+ and the only things I'm ordering are WL books, or occasionally some buried treasure that somebody else uncovers & highly recommends.  I'll sell off some surplus credits & buy PBS money to cover my postage costs, because I usually have a lot of good books on my shelf and my orders are steady - several per week.  I have mine down to about a dozen credits right now, with a few more coming for orders I'll be mailing out by Friday, and I like keeping about that many for my WL offers, since I do have a pretty hefty WL.

I now have 25 because I just sold 50 :-)  If I get close to 50 I usually try to sell 20 or 30.  I just can't seem to spend all of them.  I use that money from the sale for shipping costs and buying books at thrift shops.

I just hit the 50 mark and should sell to cover  the cost of postage. I don't have a clue how to do this though. Do you offer a Discount or What?

Brenda,  I sell in the Book Bazaar.  I find it is hard to sell for $3.00 each, but I have had success selling for 2.90 or 2.85, but I don't know if that is too low for you.  The thing with the Book Bazaar is that it just depends on who is looking that day.  Also, I require paypal for payment.  If you browse the Book Bazaar you can see how others are doing it and how much they are asking.  I always sell in at least groups of 10, but I have also sold groups of 20.

I have 60+ right now...I send out about 3-5 books every week, so they are adding up...I probably should sell some, but I am just holding on to them for now.  I'm trying to clear out the clutter in my house...I figure at some point I will start to order more books, but slower than I have in the past. :)

I'll do a special of like 10 credits for $27.50 because that's what I've found gets them sold very quickly and is the least amount of hassle.  They'd probably go pretty quickly for $28.50 too, for that matter.  It just depends on how may people are selling them in the BB when you post it, and what the average asking price is.  I do PayPal only too, but I upgraded to a premium account, so I don't have that limit on how many direct payments I can receive in a given period of time.  If you do sell credits regularly, and you do it that cheaply, keep in mind that it will be more cost efficient if more of your book orders are getting you multiple credits, and try to come up with specials that encourage people not just to order a book for the freebies, but to order more than one book from you.    Media Mail cost goes up per pound, so 2 or 3 credits for a shipment that comes up at 2 pounds or less is going to be more cost effective than a single book shipment that you pay a 1lb rate for.

I've got over 60 as well. I had no idea that you could sell them.  I just figured I'd keep them and sooner or later use them.  I even donated some, not too long ago, to PBS - that's how I got to the silver level.  LOL I also decided recently to put every one of my WL books on auto request, knowing that there was no way that many books could possibly become available all within a short period of time.  LOL I'd love for it to happen, but I'd also love to meet Hugh Jackman or Viggo Mortensen, and well, the odds of that happening are pretty much slim to none! ;-)

I have around 30 right now plus about 12 tied up in games and virtual boxes.

I've sold credits a few times.  I was thinking about 10 or so just for postage money.  I still have a lot of WL books I could read and post if I could resist the urge to sign up for new games.

I'm lucky if I ever have more than 10 at a time. Right now I have 2 because I had a bunch of WL books come up (and I spent some time in the Book Bazaar - which is really bad for my credits). A little over a week ago I had 15. I don't think I've ever been able to amass more than 20. But I really am slowing down on my book ordering...really, I am :)

For now I'm gonna have to buy some more, or do a better special so I can get some books moving. Or read some WL books (but most my WL books end up being keepers). Any of you credit hoarders wanna sell me some?  :P

I don't seem to be able to accumulate that many, and I have bought several credits before to get my TBR pile up to way too much! Right now I have 6 credits, and I have some WL books that are moving up pretty quickly. I don't seem to have or buy the books everyone is looking for, but I do specials from time to time to move books off my shelf. Right now I have some WL books in my TBR, and I should be reading them before they get removed!! (2 of them were received upostable, dangit!! so I'll be offering them in deals only...)

I don't think I've ever had more than 10 unused credits at a time!

Like Kim said, selling the credits for 2.85 or 2.75 each really isn't a good deal unless you are getting multiple book orders.  I would say that even though I sell a lot of credits, I am probably even or maybe even slightly in the hole when it comes to the costs.  This is mainly because I am addicted to thrift shop book buying :-)  Granted, these books are only 50 cents to $1.00 each, but I buy a lot.  So, if I buy a wishlist book at the thriftshop and then send it, the cost actually ends up being closer to $3.00, but I have never been able to sell a credit for this much.

I've only been on PBS a few weeks, so right now I have none, lol.  I've earned 10 or so but of course spend them as soon as I get them :)

7 credits, but that's the most I have ever had since I always have a small bookshelf. I usually keep just one (you never know when a book emergency is going to pop up) since I tend to spend them as soon as I get them - maybe since I'm still sort of a PBS newbie and I still go to the library every week.

I seem to be accumulating them quickly.  I have about 100.  Mainly because, even though I'll order 10 books, I also have a tendancy to buy books that are wishlisted.  So, the credits just come right back.  Maybe I should think about selling some credits.  But, I kinda like having a bunch.  I don't know how I ended up with so many.  I think I bought some about 1 1/2 ago but, it wasn't all that many.  Obviously, I was sending out more than I was receiving.

I have 7.  If I get more than 10, then I'll order early readers and ship them to my niece, the first grade teacher.  Or even better, get a deal on readers.  I'll panic and start posting if I get below 3.  I'll then check the library donation rack and look for goodies that sell for 25 to 50 cents and post them.

I have zero - have to go buy some because I have three WL books available right now!  LOL
Obviously I want more books than I give away, and like someone (Sarah?) said, most of the WL books I get end up being keepers for me.  <sigh>

There are very few books I keep anymore.  I don't re-read unless it was an outstanding book and even then I usually have to wait a few years before I read it again.  Anything I really want I will buy new, read, then post for credit, lol.

It's usually the same for me.  Selling credits is pretty much always selling at a loss, whether it's in terms of getting back some of what you spend on books, some of what you spend on postage, or both.  I just look at it like I'm trying to make what I spend on books overall as low a figure as possible - which is why I joined PBS in the first place.  If I can recoup at least 90% of my postage costs through selling surplus credits, and most of the books I get for myself come from here, I figure I'm doing pretty good.  I know my costs are way down from where they were when I was buying everything new, so it's all good:P  Used was cheaper than new, and if I sell enough credits to cover a significant portion of what I spend here in postage each month, and I'm still getting plenty of books from here, it's costing me even less than the UBS, and I have a much wider selection.  I haven't quite worked it out so that I'm getting my used books for free yet, but until then, I'll settle for cheap:P

I have 52 right now and have 8 books to go out this week. Sometimes, I send extra credits to my Mom since she doesn't ship out as many books as I do.

I've got around 30.  I've found I like to keep around that many.  It does fluctuate, it'll go down 5 or 6 and then I'll get some orders and it goes back up.

I remember being new to the site, I never had enough credits but I made myself find more stuff to post because I refuse to buy any.  I figure if I run out, then I'd better read more and post books to get some more credits built up.  I've never bought any.

I also like having that cushion because I like to buddy some to newbies on occasion.  I remember never having enough!

I have 10 right now which I'm saving for WL books.  I have started getting some of my reminder list books from book bazaar, Book Mooch and I'm also trying to not let my TBR get so big.
