The site is unbelievably slow, but if you have some time and patience, you can save 80% on quite a few books.   I just bought some by Jory Strong, Shiloh Walker, etc, that were $3.50 each.  I ended up with 11 books, one at full price ($12.99), for $47.49 (free shipping).  The same books online would have cost over $140!  Now that's a deal!  Oh, and free shipping at EC starts at $35.

The site being so slow is a real issue though...it took two hours to locate/add all those books and complete the order.  It was a pain, but worth it!  Here's the link...you can't miss the "Huge sale on print books" box:

Sorry, but you'll have to look up the link the old fashioned way.  The link I supplied was also showing part of my shopping cart!  I'm not sure what's up with that, but it's got to go!

Hmmm, sorry. I just realized that most of y'all may already know of this sale through the Lora Leigh 50% off thread.  I guess it was the 50% that threw me off.   The sale I'm talking about is an 80% one.  I'll leave this up for a bit just in case.  Also, I don't know if EC is changing its name to JasmineJade.com or what, but when you click through on the link I supplied above, that's the name shown in the link.  The site itself is still listed as Ellora's Cave, though.

Oh yeah, it's definitely worth it, but it about drove me nuts.  You know what I ended up doing was opening up another window and working the site from both.  As long as you're on the same computer, it adds the books to the same shopping cart.  I'm sure that's a very bad thing to do because it just contributes to the overall slowness for everyone, but  I was paranoid about the site messing up and deleting my entire shopping cart.

I used the refresh button several times too when things got hung up and stale.  I especially needed it during the check out process.  Several times I got the default message that the internet couldn't display that particular page - Ack!  All I kept thinking was "Please do *not* delete my cart!!" Thankfully, refresh took care of it - as in "Whew!"

Hang in there!

Hi Lynn!  I'm actually working on my 3rd order there, they keep adding new ones on me. Heres a tip for anybody whos afraid of losing everything in their cart, if you're logged in to your account it will save what ever you've added so far. I still have stuff from yesterday on there. And I'm still looking!!

LOL Third order!! You go girl!  By the way, thanks for the tip regarding saving the cart.  I hadn't registered yet and was really paranoid.  I'm glad to know that when I go back now though (to order more books, of course!) that it'll be saved.  That's a big relief.

I'd like to place a third order, if I can ever get the site to work for me. Maybe I should try at 6 a.m.

Ugh.  I should take it as a sign that I shouldn't order anything more...but I won't.

Well I started at 5:30 and wow do they have some good things in there that weren't before....but things keep dropping outof my shopping cart so I guess I have to wait til it catches up or something.....

If you gals can get in they have Death Row: the Trilogy by Jaid Black which I just loved, plus a Sarah McCarty book, and some other good things.

Anne

I can't check out. I hope the 22 in my cart don't disappear!

I am so done! I ended up having to be logged into my account and have two browsers open, before I could get it to go all the way through.  Heres my 33 EC ordered if anybodys curious. The Trek book wasn't part of the sale. I love my Sci-fi smut !!

This is so irritating....I have to leave in like 3 minutes and its hung up on the shipping screen. I hope its not all gone when I get back.

Anne

OMG I think it went through. Shocking. I am sure there were other books I wanted that were lost early this morning.  Oh well.

"I am so mad, I can't get anything to stay in my cart. I go to another page and its empty."

Arrghh - it was doing that to me last night too.  I kept having to go back to the previous page, then move forward again - that seemed to work fairly well.  Also, I got on late last night (about midnight) and things were much better.  It was still slow, but compared to earlier in the day it was like greased lightning.  It probably took about a minute for one of the pages to load instead of forever.

I am so through ordering...or at least that's what I'm telling myself right now.  I placed three orders for 29 books.  Hmmmm, maybe I should go back and make it an even thirty.  No!!   Must...resist....

I wonder what the free gift is?  LOL If it's a book, I sure hope it's a different one with each order.  I can just see all of us ending up with a zillion copies of the same book! :-D

Oh, are y'all going ahead and deleting the books you just ordered from your WL?  I'm half afraid to do it in case I get some email saying that they're now out of stock of a particular book (or books) .  I figure I'll wait until I get the shipping notice, then confirm what was sent.  That's probably a bit paranoid, but I'd hate to lose my place in line after waiting so long to see those numbers come down!

Here is a list of what I ordered though I haven't checked it for accuracy yet. www.paperbackswap.com/tags/index.php

Can't even get in to the site now.

Anne

I took them all off my WL.  If I don't get them, oh well.....some of the lines are so long I'd never get them that way anyhow! I was able to move some other things onto my WL that have a better possibility of being granted.

I couldn't help my self!  I had to look again, it's up to 29 pages now. I read that they're supposed to end up offering over 500 books. I got my first order in today, i'm not taking anything off my WL until I have those puppies in hand.LOL

Angela, where did you read that? Why are they doing this? Are they going to do anything to speed up the site? I can't even get it to open.
