My husband and I are hummingbird fanatics. We love our little jewels. Am looking for books about them...have a number listed on my wish list.

I'll watch for books when I go to the used book stores.  I just got my feeder hung up and one showed up!  Actually there are two but one chases the other one away.  I was so excited to see them.  I haven't had any luck since my apt. in Virginia.  But now this one is around a lot!

Hi Sheila,

I didn't realize anyone had answered my post. Finally...another hummingbird person! What do you use for necter?  We make our own, don't use store bought. We make it with 1 cup sugar to 4 cups water.  I wish you could see our feeders...it's nuts. We need an air traffic controller there are so many....I mean 100s! Have 2 feeders, 4 will be feeding and 4 or 5 others lined up waiting or trying to get in. It's sch a crack up to see their antics and here them chattering. The funnist thing is a bird will land, start sucking and you can see their tummy getting bigger. Then I guess to get rid of ballast, they will either poop or spray our a stream of nectar...then take off.

We also love our hummers. I had to put up 2 feeders because of all the fighting. We really had wars going on. They also like to sit on our old TV antena(sp)
