Has anyone read this?

Holy cow, what a great book!  I literally could not put it down.  I'd love to discuss it with anyone who has read it since I can't stop thinking about it!!

I finished it last month.  I loved it!!  I had never heard of this book or the author.  I recieved it as a Christmas gift and finished it in 2 days.  It is supposed to be a trilogy but no word on when the next one is coming out.

I hadn't heard of her either. Stephenie Meyer was raving about the book on her site and that's why I initially picked it up.  I actually don't think I've looked yet to see if she has anything else out there.  I'm so glad that there will be two more!  I was dying to know at the end how things would turn out.  I feel hesitant to say too much about the ending in case people look at this who haven't read it yet, but I think the build up for the next book is incredible!

It's on my WL, but I'm not sure I'll ever get it. I'm pretty far down.

I might have to give in and buy it one of these days!

I haven't decided if I want to post it yet. I'm thinking it's a keeper, especially since there are going to be two more.  I would highly recommend going ahead and buying it!

Oh, it's on my keeper shelf for sure.  I just made my husband download the audio version to listen to on a business trip he is taking tomorrow.

I just read this, and I am amazed but it. I finished it on Saturday and it's been in my head ever since. I cannot wait for the next one.

I could not stop thinking about it either. I wanted to force some of my friends to read it just so I could keep talking about it.  It will be very interesting in the next one to see the games from the mentor prospective. (if that's how it's going to play out)  And the writing was so descriptive that all the scenes were playing like a movie in my head the entire time. I wonder if they'll ever make a movie?

I'm thinking it will focus on ways to rebel, or least thats how I want it to go...and more of Gale lol

Yeah, that would definitely be interesting, especialy if she teamed up with the other district.  I loved Gale too. I imagined a young Johnny Depp. :)  I'm sure he'll play a much bigger role in the next one.  Didn't you want to know what he was thinking throughout certain parts of the book?  I would have liked to have read about his perspective watching her during the games.

Catching Fire (The Hunger Games Series #2) by Suzanne Collins September 08, 2009

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Yeah!!!  It looks like you were right!  I'm surprised it doesn't mention anything about the love triangle.....

September. That seems so far away!

Me too.  Sometimes it pays to be late in the game for a series. By the time I read the Southern Vampire books I was able to get them all at once and it was incredible.

I read this book last month and it is still fresh in my mind!  It is one of the best books I have ever read and anyone whom is thinking about reading it, totally should.  The writing was so good, I felt like I was right there w/ Katniss...lol

Maria, I totally agree! It was almost like watching a movie in your head while you are reading. It takes a really good writer to do that. BTW, love spaghetti cat!!
