When I first read this, I was a little bit disappointed. It didn't have enough "zing", or so I thought. Then, when I thought about it I realized that Ms. Lindbergh wrote this book for a generation of young people who were far less sophisticated than the kids of today. And looking at it from THAT viewpoint, this is really a darling story. It really speaks out about being different, being isolated in a crowd and just being a very curious, too mature, young girl. But I still think that kids today would find it boring and perhaps silly.
i loved the thought of the time hole. it had a good moral story that what you really want isn't alway's the best
