Let's start off by saying that this audio is pure "Cotton Candy" for the brain! This is a book you listen to solely for entertainment! You are not going to come away from this book with a marked increase in your intelligence, or the ability to finally understand the principles of quantum mechanics! You're going to come away with a feeling like you just got off a roller coaster - almost wet yourself, but you want to go again! Switch from intelect over to imagination - and you'll enjoy this one! There are three main characters in this book that you get to know quite well, and grow close to: the title character "Hunter" a tracker without equal, his companion "Ghost" an adult Northern Wolf, and the "monster" the result of rogue genetic manipulation. I will admit that the premis is a little outlandish - an indestructible monter - but it IS plausible! Think of what capabilities we have regarding genetic research - could we do it? Would we do it? One thing about the human race, if it can be done, we will eventually do it - regardless of the moral or ethical values we have. The best part of this novel is the PLOT itself! It's a fantastic mind trip into a blank zone - cuz that's what your mind does - it blanks out, and all you have is the story that you can't tear yourself away from. That's good writing! I would point you to two other books by Huggins: CAIN and LEVIATHAN - both excellent thrillers! Hope you enjoy this one, I did!, but then it doesn't take much to entertain me! I have to use my mind all day at work (remember me mentioning "quantum mechanics?), so anything that gives me a form of mental escape is entertaining to me!
