I was looking forward to this book because some of my favorite authors are in it. I was a little disappointed in the Christine Warren contribution but Marjorie Liu and Caitlin Kittredge both delivered short but riveting stories. But the real find was Jenna Maclaine, who I have never heard of. Her story was different and left me wishing there was more. I will definitely look for more books from her. A quick summer read if you enjoy paranomal stories like I do.

Multi author anthology. I bought it for the Christine Warren story which I enjoyed [magic geek hero and kick ass heroine]. It currently isn't related to any other series [that I know of].

Sin Slayer by Jenna Maclaine [according to other reviewers] relates to her Cin Craven series which I have not read.

The other two stories: Down In The Ground Where The Dead Men Go by Caitlin Kittredge and The Robber Bride by Marjorie M. Liu are apparently standalones.

It was an okay read over all. I'm not sure what category this book is placed here but I know my library had it under romance. I really think it was more fantasy with some romance in it.

Christine Warren's "Devil's Bargain" was okay. The writing wasn't very smooth and the sex scenes seems forced. I think it would have been better off if she would have left it out entirely. The story was interesting. It might have been better if it was a book.

Marjorie M. Liu's "The Robber Bride" took some getting used to. Even though the story was post-apocalyptic, Liu's style of writing reminds me a little of regency novels. I do like the characters. They are all very interesting. I was slightly disappointed with the resolution of the story but I found the relationship between the two main characters very sweet. I wouldn't mind reading more about their adventures.

Caitlin Kittredge's "Down in the Ground Where the Dead Men Go": For some reason, I couldn't get into this story. I didn't finish it.

Jenna Maclaine's "Sin Slayer" was surprisingly good. I don't usually like historic stories or any stories based on the past, but this reads like a modern day story. No overly flowery language, very straight forward. The characters are intriguing and the story was pretty creative. I think I will definitely look Maclaine up and see if her other stuff is as much fun. Out of all four stories, this one was the best.
