When searching for a book that I was planning to post, the ISBN came up with a paperback, when mine is a hardcover. How do I post this book if both types have the same ISBN number?

From the help section:

Problem: You enter the ISBN on your paperback and the book Listing Preview says "Hardcover".

This means one of two things:

1.  Your book is an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC)

If your book is a paperback, and the ISBN brings up a Book Listing Preview that says "hardcover", please check your book to be sure it is not an ARC.   If it is an ARC, it cannot be posted for swapping at PBS.

Solution: You can offer this book to others in the Book Bazaar Discussion Forum, but you cannot post it to your PBS bookshelf.

2. The publisher chose to assign the same ISBN to more than one version of this title.

Publishers sometime choose to assign the same ISBN to multiple versions of a book.  However, PBS can attach only ONE booktype to the listing for an ISBN.  If your book does not have the booktype assigned to the ISBN in the PBS database, you will need to post it with a customized listing, using the Post a Book Without an ISBN link on the Post Books page, so that the booktype matches your book.

Solution: You will need to post this book with a customized listing for the book, using the Post Books without an ISBN link on the Post Books page.

Hi, Nicole, this question is easily answered in the Help Center.

Search the Help Center for the words PROBLEM POSTING

and you get

Solutions to common Book Posting Problems

The other thing that is very helpful is the ability to search the Discussion forums for previously answered questions. If you had typed different ISBN into the search box for the discussion forums, you would have gotten

2 books; same ISBN?

paperback / hardback

As you can see, it is a common question, but one that is easily answered in the Help Center. I do hope you are getting the help you need on here, and getting your questions answered, but I also encourage you to read up in the HC. There are sooooo many good pieces of information in there that you may not always get answered right away here on the forums as there is not always someone available to answer them immediately.

I don't mean to make it sound like you shouldn't ask questions on the forums, but just wanted to take this opportunity to guide you to the wonderful HelpCenter that we have available to us here.

ETA: Sorry, Sheri, I got interrrupted before I could hit enter, so posted the same info as you did!
