So I tried to post a hardcover copy of George Pelecanos' Soul Circus to my TBR pile and got this message:

Sorry, this book has a valid ISBN number, but is not in our database.

I have never had that come up before - can I add the book manually somehow? I just looked at the book a bit closer and see that it is a UK published  version - I am guessing that is the issue?

TIA for your help.

The form should pop up so that you can put in the particulars on the book. It's kind of like the form for posting a book without an ISBN. I know it's happened to me when I've searched for books but I can't remember if it's happened when I've posted books.

Hmm - interesting...... I get a form to add the info if I want to post the book but not if I want to put it in my TBR pile.  That said, if I fill in the info to post it is it then in the overall database? Would I then be able to delete it from my shelf but the info would be in the PBS database so I could then enter the ISBN and put it in my TBR pile?

Something to putz with later once the leave are raked...... :)

Enjoy your day, everyone!

That sounds like it should work Nora. If it's not in the database, it can't be on anyone's wish list, so there's no real danger in posting it and then deleting it right away. Once you post it, then theoretically it should be in the DB, so you should be able to add it to your wish or TBR lists.
